Sahaj Marg.

Came accross this organization during my last visit to India in December. Mom actually got to know about it while she was undergoing physiotherapy at a super specialty hospital near my home town. Some lady there practiced meditation and when asked gave mom several names and telephone numbers. So, I called one of the guys, in fact met him and came to know that there was an introductory lecture in the coming days, and of course I was invited. Went there along with mom and ha ha ha... pulled in my brother as well. It was kind of nice to know about the organization. The person who delivered the lecture explained that they teach a particular form of Meditation called "Sahaj Marg" and it was free for all. No charge what so ever. Further he explained that there were 3 requirements.
1. An individual (referred to as "Abhyasi") should be old enough to make a conscious choice.
2. An individual should come to them with his/her own will and not under anyone's pressure.
3. An individual should under go 3 sittings with a Prefect... Sort of a former Abhyasi and now a master authorized to give the sittings. Also the one who would give guidance.

All that was well and good, but they also stressed the need to keep meeting once a week for a group meditation. Then monthly for something or the other... which sort of something I am not very keen on. Further there was a bigger problem for me. I was going to leave my home town to head back to the US in about a weeks time. And there was no Prefect available at my hometown. So, got their pamphlet and headed back to the US. The pamphlet says more about Sahaj Marg and gives a website address "www.sahajmarg.org".

Several days passed after reaching the US and last week I suddenly remembered about this and visited their website. There was a link provided for people who were interested. Clicked on the link and provided my email address... Sure enough couple of days later got an email from a person... a Prefect living close by.

Will continue tomorrow......

Is this real?

I am afraid, very afraid that I might jinks the good thing happenning by saying it out loud. So, let me just say this... the last smoke I had was in India - Bangalore on the 25th of December 2009. That's it, and no more talk about that.
